DB Blog #27 – Green Cleaning and School Sustainability

We are excited to have launched our online ‘Sustainable Schools’ resource hub for primary schools together with our very own Sustainability Catalogue, designed to help all of our customers make greener cleaning choices.

Content on the hub enables teachers to plan classes with downloadable learning plans and green initiative activities.  Class discussions can also be inspired by motivational videos. Eligible customers can claim their very own Spruce tree seeds provided by Katrin (Metsa).  Schools are then able to share their tree planting skills and activities and join our ‘Eco Warrior’ showcase which we hope will inspire other schools to start their own green projects.

We set up Sustainable Schools when we saw the positive influence green choices made at Solent Infant School in Portsmouth.  Initially the school approached us looking for paper dispensers that would support their strong environmental ethos.  The joy expressed by the mini Eco Warriors at the school, left us wanting to help more schools to feel the buzz of sustainability.  We re-approached Emma Curthoys, Head of School, who is happy for the school to champion this campaign, “we are excited at being involved in CJS’s Sustainable Schools project and delighted that we may be able to help influence other schools to do the same.”

We are also proud to launch our Sustainability Catalogue alongside this project. Keith Churchill, Sales Director for CJS has seen the growing shift towards greener solutions.

“The concern for sustainable solutions is more prevalent than ever.  As a company we recognise the importance of offering environmentally conscious products.” (Keith Churchill, Sales Director)
