6 months ago we began our #PortsmouthPeriodPoverty campaign, to support the Red Box Project in the Portsmouth area and provide sanitary items to girls and young women in need.
Now that our final meeting with Rebecca (the co-ordinator of the Red Box Project in Portsmouth) has taken place and our fund matching has been presented. We are proud to announce that a fantastic total in excess of £550 has been raised for this appeal.
We have been overwhelmed by the support from our customers and suppliers who have seen the heart of this project and cannot thank everyone enough.
£250 was donated by generous donors on JustGiving, this was matched with a cheque from CJS Environmental.
The collection tin in the CJS trade shop raised £53.38 from pin badge sales.
This does not include the full red boxes that have been collected by Rebecca, and the cases of sanitary products gifted by suppliers, customers and staff members.
At the beginning of our campaign Rebecca was working hard to get every primary, junior and senior school, alongside all colleges in our city, supplied with full Red Boxes. This is now a reality.
Thank you once again to our customers, suppliers and CJS staff members, who have supported this great cause and thank you to Rebecca and the Red Box Project for allowing us to be part of something special.
If you would still like to contribute to the Red Box Project you can find them on Facebook, or donate items to another Red Box in a nearby supermarket.
